1934 . It all started in 1934, when the young and brave entrepreneur Lucien de Puydt founded the Flemish technology company Belgian American Radio Corporation (BARCO) . He wanted to produce and sell the most important and high-tech consumer product of this era - radio - in Flanders and the surrounding area. In the first year, more than 2,000 radios were assembled.

1935 . In the 1930s, the radio market expanded rapidly. Lucien de Puydt combines his technical developments with his creative approach to imports, which has made it possible to make low-cost radios . Their success has been phenomenal and they have faced a huge number of counterfeits, so in their ads they say "Don't be fooled by our imitators - they will only cause you trouble".

1959 . The first Belgian TV set with printed circuit boards and a semi-modular chassis, two years earlier than other Belgian TV manufacturers, was unveiled at a TV show in Brussels. Galaxy, with a viewing angle of 110 degrees and a thin and light body, has become a benchmark for all future generations of TVs.

1962 . They are starting to offer multi-standard TVs . From now on, Barco TVs can use at least 5 standards for signal transmission , which increases the production of TVs greatly. But the brightest moment was when Barco became the first manufacturer of universal TVs with wireless ultrasonic remote control .

1964 . Barco is developing its own version of the bobbin sensor , which it sells to the thriving textile industry in Kortrijk, Belgium. And Barco's textile division is developing its own electronic loom control system - Stop Control IEI20 . 1966 . Traveler - the first portable multi-standard TV . Its receiver, the Mini Ranger, has become an all-transistor version and is becoming one of Barco 's most successful stories. It implemented the three most important principles of Barco at the time - multi-standard, transistorization and modular architecture of the chassis.

1967 . Taking a successful step in the market for color TVs , Barco is literally taking over the Belgian market. Barco color TVs were the only ones to use both PAL and SECAM . 1969 . Thanks to their experience with computer technology, Barco is developing a computer system that can interact with all textile mills. The Sycotex system constantly monitors textile operations, which significantly increases the volume of production. 1979 . Barco starts working with video projections in airplanes . A videotape, unlike film reels, can be used for various projections on board aircraft. That is, the video projector must support several standards, namely Barco are the best. 1980s . Barco 's information projector is a response to the increased demand for large-screen projectors that can project both clear alphanumeric data and complex charts.
